FroshOne 2009
Register for FroshOne
Register for FroshOne and meet new people while having fun! There will be food and prizes!
FroshOne is a two-day event for first year students enrolled in the TechOne program from September 10th to 11th.
Cost is $2 per person, which includes food, first year survival guide, and lots of fun!

Beyond SIAT
Interactive Arts and Technology Student Union presents
Beyond SIAT, where SIAT alumni come to our Surrey campus and speak about what they have done
after graduating from the program. Some of our featured speakers come from
companies such as Blast Radius, Rilli.com, and Verico. It is a great
opportunity to connect with graduates in the industry.

Pub Night every Thursdays!
IATSU, CSSS, and ESSS is hosting weekly Pub
Nights on Thursdays, 5:30 PM, at the Central City Pub. This is a social
event where you get the chance to network with fellow SFU students! We have
also arranged some special discounts on selected meals.
Please note that you don’t have to be at least 19 years-old to attend, as
you get the option to order what you like to drink at this event!

IATSU - Rock out on Rocktober Fest!
IATSU will be bringing out Rock Band’s video console set for you to rock
out during Rocktober Fest.
Rocktober Fest is a joint, social event day hosted by IATSU, CSSS, SCC,
Games Club, GoAnime, and Drama Hima Kai. There are several fun activities
for you to try out. SCC will be providing free pizza for the event.

SFU Surrey Students Shed Hair to Benefit Cancer Cause
IATSU is organizing a charity fundraiser to raise money for cancer care and research. The main attraction of this fundraiser event is Josef Liu. Josef has extremely long hair and is a very popular student at Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus. His hair measures almost twenty-five inches and he is cutting it all for a great cause. In addition to Josef, there will be many other brave volunteers collecting donation pledges to shave their heads. The main event will take place Monday March 27, 2006 at around 11:30 am.

IATSU First Aid Workshops
IATSU introduced the "Standard for Industry First Aid" certificate course this Saturday. The course is taught and certified by St. John Ambulance and took place March 11th and 18th at SFU Surrey. Students learned care for conscious and unconscious patients, burn management, emergency scene management, workplace protocol, wound treatment, medical emergencies, airway management, CPR, and much much more! The course was a great success.

Valentine's Day Rose Sale
IATSU's 2006 Valentine's Day Rose Sale was a huge success! We received a large amount of preorders, and by the end of cupid's day we were completely sold out! In total we sold 191 roses. Hope we were able to bring a little lovin' to SFU Surrey.
CBC Radio to broadcast from SFU Surrey
CBC Radio's The Early Edition will be broadcasting live from the Pool, the main entrance area to SFU Surrey, on Friday, January 20.
The theme of the show will be violence, and some of the guests will include federal election candidates and Simon Fraser University experts on violence and crime.
The broadcast takes place 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to drop by and listen as politicians and professors debate the issue of violence and crime.

If your group wants to do a short performance or presentation (i.e. 10 mins) showcasing what your group does, please email Azair Hassan (hsu1) with which day you would like to perform and any specific needs you have by JANUARY 2.

Elections - Congratulations to New Execs
IATSU held interm elections for two vacant positions on December 2nd, 2005. Congratulations to Uzair Hassan and Michael Chang. Uzair is the new Vice-President, Activities and Michael is the new IATSU Forum Representative.
SFU Surrey Radio - IATSU on CJSF 90.1FM
CJSF 90.1FM - Simon Fraser campus-community radio, was broadcasting live in the Pool at SFU Surrey on Wednesday, November 23rd at 12:00pm. CJSF talked to several campus groups including IATSU. On air was IATSU executives Tien Le, Brian Quan, and Bryan Ottho.

- Vice President Activities
Oversee organization of social activities and events. Encourage students to become involved.
- Forum Representative
Promote the interests of SIAT at meetings of the Forum of the SFSS. Report activities of Forum to IATSU. This position is paid.
