Introduction

"For too many people, a glimpse of the lake is all they take away from a visit to this national park" (Yahoo! 2003).  While it is true that a glimpse of the lake is indeed breathtaking, there is a plethora of other things to do in the park.  For the outdoor enthusiast, Crater Lake National Park is a mecca for hikers, campers, sightseers, naturalists, photographers, cross-country skiers, fishers, and even scuba-divers.  This website is intended to provide potential visitors with a composition of information to help in determining what to do when they visit the park.  The main emphasis, however, will be on hiking.  The goal is to provide potential visitors with information such as locations and length on some of the more popular trails, but more importantly, what they will see when they hike each trail, and some background knowledge on these features.

Most of this information is readily available on the net, however, it is extremely scattered.  For example, one website will tell you what you'll see on the trail, but you'll have to search other websites to find photos.  Furthermore, maps of the trails are virtually non-existent.  It is my goal to bring these three elements together on one website: descriptions, maps, and photos.
