Watershed Groups of the Georgia Basin - Catchment Areas

The Georgia Basin consists of three major watershed groups - Fraser, South Coast, and Vancouver Island.

See graphs.

In the Fraser watershed group, the 1x107 to 1x108 groups are well represented while smaller groups, 1x106 and 5x106 , are not represented at all. The Fraser group has a large spread with one station at a very small drainage area and several at very large drainage areas.

In the South Coast watershed group, the 5x107 and 1x108 groups are well represented while there is a scattering of stations slightly larger and slightly smaller than these.

In the Vancouver Island watershed group, the 5x107 and 5x108 groups are well represented. The distribution of stations is approximately normal with a negative skew. There are no extremely large or extremely small drainage areas represented.
