This is where I get to tell you all about what didn't work, and what problems I had getting the analysis complete. Since I had a clear outline of what I was looking for, and had a pretty good understanding of how to get it, I didn't run into too many problems along the way. The main problems I did encounter were related to the digitizing of the data points, since I did not have prior digitizing knowledge. The other problem I faced was the that I do not know IDRISI as well as I would have liked to. This would have allowed me to do further in-depth analysis of the data set, such as those outlined below.

    Some of the analysis that I would have liked to perform, would be a minimum and maximum distance between McDonald's and the individual restaurant chains. I would have also liked to identify the individual catchment areas of all restaurants, which would then have allowed me to further identify the minimum and maximum areas covered by these catchments. One of the things I would have also liked to do with the web page, is link the individual addresses I entered into Excel, to the data points on the map, but I do not have the know how to do this yet.

    All in all, I was satisfied with this project and my analysis proved to be quite successful. Now I'll have to see if McDonald's thinks the same.
