Field Trip is a guided bus tour that will take viewers to exhibition spaces beyond the familiar concentration of galleries in Vancouver. Lead by Steven Tong, the bus will not only shuttle participants to current exhibitions in the "suburban" galleries along the tour, it will also be a mobile site for discussion and participatory events addressing the context of art in seemingly peripheral locations. Departing from Audain Gallery in Vancouver, stops include Presentation House Gallery in North Vancouver, SFU Gallery in Burnaby, the Maillardville Cultural Appreciation Society in Coquitlam and the Surrey Art Gallery.
After the Surrey Art Gallery, the tour will stop for dinner at Central City Brewing, near SFU's Surrey campus. Please note: dinner is optional and at participants' expense. The bus will return to the Audain Gallery afterwards, but the Surrey Central Sky Train Station is conveniently located across the parking lot from Central City Brewing for those opting out of dinner.
