Research Interests

Postsecondary access, opportunity, and equity; Community colleges; Interpretive, qualitative research methods and methodologies; Teaching and learning inside postsecondary classrooms, particularly for marginalized students.  The instructional, organizational, and institutional contexts that perpetuate and/or mediate educational inequality.  The enactment of educational reforms in relation to postsecondary access and opportunity.
