JOINT GEOLOGY – GEOGRAPHY ARTICULATION INITIATIVE
Robbie Dunlop gave a brief report on the most recent meeting of the joint Geology-Geography committee. The final report will be transmitted to BCCAT in September 2003.
NEW BUSINESS:
Steven Earle described the format of a new course in Sedimentary Geology being offered at Malaspina in the summer term.
It was suggested that future Earth Science articulation meetings should be held in the 2 nd or 3 rd week of May to avoid field-school programs, but not to conflict with the GAC-MAC annual conference.
A UBC Earth and Ocean Science entrance scholarship should be made known to engineering students at sending institutions.
It was agreed that the committee should send a letter to the Ministry of education urging her not to drop the provincial exam in Geology 12.
MOTION (Mark Smith, John Martin): The Stony Stool award for 2003 is to be presented to Ken Klein of UCC. carried
ARTICULATION 2004 : Lesley Anderton agreed to hold next year's meeting at Selkirk in Castlegar, with May 8, 9 and 10 th as the tentative dates.

Most of the delegates took part in a geological field trip to central Vancouver Island, Denman Island and Hornby Island on May 6 th and 7 th . The trip was led by Peter Mustard of SFU and Jim Haggart of the Geological Survey of Canada.
