New Graduate Students: I’m new to SFU, where do I start?

- Go through the virtual orientation: for all new graduate student; important things to do:
- get a SFU Student Card.
- get a SFU Computing ID to access school services and information.
- get a SFU Student Card.
- Go through the Graduate Student Handbook: this contains information on admission, funding, academic integrity, and resources for international students.

- [mail.sfu.ca] SFU Mail: this is your SFU email, calendar and more.
- [maillist.sfu.ca] Maillists: this is where you see which mail lists you belong to.
- [maillist.sfu.ca] Maillists: this is where you see which mail lists you belong to.
- [coursys.sfu.ca] CourSys & [canvas.sfu.ca] Canvas: this is where you manage your course for most of your CMPT courses.
- [myinfo.sfu.ca] Staff Information System: this is where your pay stubs live for your RA/TA-ships.
- [supportpal.cs.sfu.ca] SFU CS Assistant: this is where you submit your administrative questions to the CS department, it's the preferred alternative to emailing csgrada@sfu.ca.
- [gradawards.sfu.ca] Graduate Awards Application System: this is where you search for and apply for scholarships and awards (the department will send you emails if there comes a new batch of awards you should apply for).
- TA application page: this is the centralized webpage where you can apply for TA-ships (usually opens the month before a semester, look out for the emails because application periods are short!).
- [sfu-csm.symplicity.com] Symplicity: this is where you search and apply for co-op/jobs/volunteer.
- [upassbc.translink.ca] Translink U-pass: renew your U-pass at the beginning of every month here.
