Prime Minister's Award

May 05, 2017

On behalf of SFU Childcare Society (SFUCCS), we would like to congratulate Nita Pedersen, Espuleta Senior Educator for being recognized with the prestigious Prime Minister's Achievement Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education. ๔€€”he is one of ten recipients from across the country.

We all are extremely proud of Nita's accomplishments and of her exemplary work with our infant and toddler children.

The Prime Minister's Awards program is the highest national award for K-12 teachers and early childhood educators in Canada. It honours the tremendous contributions outstanding educators have made to the children they lead, as well as their colleagues, their centres, and communities. They represent the "best of the best" in Canadian early childhood education.

We are immensely proud of Nita's contribution to SFU Childcare Society's mission of Leading Excellence in Early Care and Learning, which begins with her enormous heart for children, particularly infants and toddlers. She is able to provide them with rich and deep opportunities with the freedom to experience and explore the world around them. She is intentional in making sure others have the knowledge and opportunity to do likewise for those in their care.

We are very fortunate and thankful for the highly-trained and passionate educators we have who care for and facilitate learning for the children at SFUCCS.
