Decolonise Palestine Teach-In: Doctors without Defence: Assault on Healthcare in Gaza

About This Event:

In the 4th Decolonise Palestine Teach-In, the panel examined how the destruction of hospitals and the healthcare system has become a key strategy of Israel in its assault on Gaza. We aim to address both the urgency of the current conditions, and to consider Israeli control over Palestinian healthcare in Gaza over the longer durée.

Speakers:

Dr. Najib Safieddene is a Thoracic Surgeon and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Ben Thompson is a kidney and general internal medicine doctor in the Toronto area. He has volunteered in the Occupied Territories of Palestine (both West Bank and Gaza) since 2013.

Nicola Perugini is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Edinburgh in the School of Social and Political Science.
