UBC media scholar Kamal al-Solaylee in conversation with SFU scholar-in-residence Dr. Amyn Sajoo.
Far beyond the headlines on Afghanistan, Iran, Myanmar, Syria & Ukraine, migrants run remarkable risks in search of homelands—braving economic, social & political storms. Celebrated writer & UBC media scholar Kamal al-Solaylee unpacks these restless quests, including his own, in conversation with SFU scholar-in-residence, Dr. Amyn Sajoo.
Kamal al-Solaylee is the Director of the UBC school of Journalism and Award-winning author of Brown (2016), Return (2021), and Intolerable: A Memoir of Extremes (2012), all published by HarperCollins.
