Distinguished SFU Professor Henry Daniel Debuts New Dance Piece at the World Premiere of ‘Light' in Germany
Black Caucus Co-Founder & Distinguished SFU Professor awardee at SFU’s School for Contemporary Arts Dr. Henry Daniel choreographed a dance piece titled 'Presence' alongside Damian Gmür & Yuexan Gui at the world premiere of 'Light' in Theatre Pforzheim, Germany.
A renowned dance scholar, performer, and Artistic Director of Full Performing Bodies, Henry Daniel explores the enigmatic nature of light in his captivating new dance piece, presented as part of a three-part performance. Through his choreography, Daniel delves into the dichotomy of light as both visible and invisible, as well as its unique properties as a form of radiation and resonance.
Amongst his numerous scholarly contributions, Dr. Henry recently published a new book titled, Re-Choreographing Cortical & Cartographic Maps (Book): Going West to Find East Going East to Find West. This book offers a groundbreaking approach to practice-as-research, exploring how our brains create unique maps of our experiences as we move through space and time.
