We, the SFU Black Caucus, announce the successful passage of a democratic motion by the SFU Black Caucus Membership in solidarity with the Anti-Apartheid and Pro-Peace communities in Palestine and Israel. This motion, supported by a majority vote at the general membership meeting, stands as a testament to our commitment to dismantling all forms of colonialism and eliminating systemic racism.

Presented by Public Square Join us for “Transformative Justice: A Revolutionary Praxis for Reducing Anti-Trans Sentiment”—part of SFU’s President’s Faculty Lectures! The exploitation of transgender and nonbinary individuals by media systems is a strategic method of oppression. This lecture will illuminate the unique oppression Black trans women face, highlight the severe consequences of anti-trans rhetoric and legislation for these individuals, and provide a path to sustained solidarity with gender-nonconforming individuals via transformative justice.
