Turning Insights into Action: Artful Approaches to Housing Research

May 02, 2024

We co-hosted a webinar with the Canada Mortgage and Housing (CMHC) and the Expert Community on Housing (ECOH).

ECOH is an online community of 1400 housing experts that share their knowledge, upcoming events, research, and insights! Join ECOH here.

Description:

This webinar explores how arts-based research methods can facilitate best-practice understandings in supportive housing provision, including design, operations, and policy. Arts-based methods are one means of understanding abstract dimensions of human experience including emotions, memories, and senses. The webinar delves into arts-based research conducted as part of the Aging in the Right Place Partnership, a five-year, cross-Canada interdisciplinary inquiry investigating promising practices in supportive housing service and design for older adults with experiences of homelessness. We share strategies for conducting photovoice and arts-based elicitation interviews, disseminating arts-based knowledge, and translating these forms of research to inform housing design, operations, and policy.
