Emily Burkholder, Program Coordinator

Emily Burkholder (she/her) is the Program Coordinator for both ACT and SFU Climate Innovation teams. She has a Master’s in Resource and Environmental Management (Planning) from SFU. While studying at SFU, Emily conducted research at the Arusha Climate and Environmental Research Centre in Tanzania. Through the Food Systems Lab, her research looked at challenges with food waste and the circular food economy in Metro Vancouver. She also has a Master’s in interdisciplinary studies from Royal Roads University that focused on the intersection of disaster management, food systems and humanitarian action. She has a graduate certificate from the Institute for Sustainable Food Systems at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, bringing a strong interdisciplinary background in food systems, planning, disaster management, and resource management to ACT.
