Spatial Experience Resources

You will need the following:

The model comes with a simple rectangular cuboid of size 2400 x 7200 x 300 which you can use to shape the experience along your path. You are free to create and place your own elements as well.

We also provide three form•Z imager sets that capture progressions of views through the site. The form•Z imager is a program that automates the creation of multiple renderings. It uses selected views defined in a form•Z model as its input. From these it computes a set of renderings, one for each view. It provides control over image size and rendering style and properties. For this tutorial you are to use one of the three imager sets to generate your spatial narrative. Set your display window to be of size 320x240 before generating your images. Make sure the imager is set so that it DOES NOT Generate unique file names before you generate your images. This will make it work with the display file we provide.

The html files are for displaying your work. These files will show your images in a sequence. Make sure they are in the same directory as the images you create and then visit the appropriate file with a web browser. The files correspond to the imager sets as shown below.

Use sequential_story_west.html if you have used the path_west__path_1.fis imager file.

Use sequential_story_centre.html if you have used the path_centre__path_2.fis imager file.

Use sequential_story_east.html if you have used the path_east__path_3.fis imager file.
