Hierarchy of Information Tasks

This game provides you with a detailed form•Z model of Richard Le Plastrier's Lovett Bay house (RAIA Gold medal winner for 1999). This house consists of a small main building and an even smaller outbuilding, situated within a semi-rural context. See Lovett Bay house,

The layer structure and object groupings of the main building and the surrounding context have been prepared for you as examples of how these information structures can be used. The smaller out building is currently on one layer with no object structure.

Your task is to organise the objects in the outbuilding into a logical system of layers and object groups.

  1. Download the form•Z model in this LePlastrierHouse.zip file.
  2. Extract all files from the zip file into a folder on your computer.
  3. Open the information_hierarchy.fmz file in form•Z.
  4. Load the information_hierarchy.zpf preferences file.
  5. Group the objects that make up the outbuilding in the model into a logical hierarchical structure.
  6. Place the objects that make up the outbuilding into a layer structure that organises the out building in a different way to your object grouping.
  7. Save your model and all of its associated files into a zip file ready for submission.
