Re: Upgrade To 5.0.18
We are currently on 5.0.16 and have had similar experiences to what Dan describes. We have seen the most problems with our administration group also. Their group tends to run Outlook with ZCO for email (most are still using 5.0.12 ZCO, as we didn't see much in the way of performance improvements in the 5.0.16 ZCO in our testing) and Zimbra web client for calendar. They tend to have both running at the same time, which we are starting to believe is leading to a lot of the odd calendar behavior they experience. They have had meetings appear, then disappear shortly thereafter. They have had meetings that show up on some attendees' calendars, but not others (some of these had to do with permissions, but not all). They've canceled meetings, and the meeting does not disappear from several of the attendees calendars, even with the cancellation notice email sitting in their Inbox. We have another group on campus that set up their users with Outlook IMAP (no connector) for those users who just couldn't get away from Outlook. They have had almost no random calendar behavior like the administration group. Unfortunately, the odd calendar behavior in our administration group has been so random that we have not been able to reproduce the problems in testing in order to pinpoint a problem to create a Bugzilla bug for. We are theorizing that a number of the issues are linked to having the ZCO and ZWC running at the same time and their competing sync calls causing problems.
We would certainly be interested to hear from groups that have upgraded to 5.0.18 as to how the ZCO sync speeds compare to 5.0.16. We would also love any feedback from groups who have found any solutions to odd calendar behavior they have experienced, and if upgrading to 5.0.18 seemed to resolve some issues.

Thanks for the detailed response.
Most of the problems here have to do with shared calendars. If someone
uses the web client to add an event to a shared calendar, ZCO users
won't see it. And if a ZCO user adds an event, it doesn't show up in
the web client. We've also had issues with calendar events just
disappearing (seemingly at random), but that seems to be regardless of
the client.
Unfortunately, the users most likely to be using shared calendars and
seeing the issues are in the administration. Zimbra gets a bad
reputation on campus when the President or Provost and their team of
assistants don't see it working correctly. We're working on it though.
