Accomodations at SFU (Simon Hotel and Dormitory -- on the Burnaby Mountain Campus)
have been blocked for the LON-CAPA Conference.
The following rooms and nightly rates:are available:

Rates are in Canadian Dollars (which are pretty close to par with US Dollars these days).
Rates include 6% GST, 8% Hotel & 2% Municipal Tax.
Check-in from 3:00 PM to midnight, except by special prior arrangement.
Check-out is 11:00 AM.
Please make your booking through the SFU Guest Accomodations and Conferences website, where you should find a form for the LON-CAPA conference (from ~Oct 5 the form should be there).
We highly recommend these on-campus accommodations as being the most convenient for conference participants.
The walk across campus to the conference venue in the IRMACS Centre (attached to the Applied Sciences Building) should entertain you for 15 to 20 minutes...possibly much more. :-)
Off-campus hotels require a significant commute as the campus is altitudinally remote.
SFU Campus is scenic and communal as well as architecturally interesting.
Public transit on and off Burnaby Mountain is nontheless good, typically involving a short bus ride down the hill to the Production
Way--University Skytrain ALRT station from whence you can be whisked toward the heart of Vancouver. At it's Waterfront terminus, Skytrain connects with the Seabus rapid passenger ferry service across Vancouver Harbour to North Vancouver's Lonsdale Quay. In the opposite direction from the Production Way--University station (SFU), a short ride takes you to historic New Westminster with it's namesake Quay and extended pierside boardwalk along the Fraser River (navigable and tidal for miles into the Fraser Valley beyond). Both Quays feature markets and diverse attractions. See a bronze bust of Simon Fraser himself, 19th century canon and antique sternwheelers at the New Westminster Quay. River boat tours leave from this location also.
That much said, we will list an off-campus alternative hotel pricing here shortly....
The Executive Plaza Hotel located in Coquitlam alongside Burnaby's Lougheed Mall and the Lougheed Town Centre Skytrain station
would be a plausible alternative.
