The WUSC Local Committee at SFU is a group of students, faculty and staff who join with others to create change on campus and in the community by:

• Sponsoring student refugees so they can pursue their studies at SFU
• Assisting and supporting in the social and academic transition and adjustment of the new SRP students
• Promoting and participating in unique overseas learning opportunities in developing countries
• Educating and advocating for social change through activities and events that reach tens of thousands of young people every year.

The SFU Local Committee has a strong relationship with the SFU Administration. The staff at International Services for Students (ISS) assist in facilitating the SRP process.
