Opportunities for students
- Join student clubs like SFU350 or one of the many amazing student groups that advocate for social and climate justice
- Volunteer with Embark Sustainability or attend Embark’s events
- Join the Career Ready Changemaker Program offered by SFU's Career and Volunteer Services. You will earn recognition on your Co-Curricular Record and a Certificate of Program Completion.
- Look into the Work-Study program for sustainability-related opportunities
Opportunities for faculty and instructors
- Attend the Climate Action Fundamentals workshop offered by SFU Human Resources and the central SFU Sustainability team
- Join the Climate Literacy, Education and Skills Working Group, an advisory group that meets 1-3 times per term and has a consultative role for sustainability and climate educational initiatives for the SFU community
- Faculty members interested in a more frequent and deeper consultative role on sustainability and climate education can join a faculty group that meets at least once a month to help shape the new sustainability and climate literacy program
- Consider working with educational developers and consultants from the Centre for Educational Excellence and SFU Sustainability Manager, Regenerative Systems Education for intersectional and interdisciplinary approaches on developing courses that embed sustainability in a decolonizing and inclusive manner
