First Blog Post: Greenpeace Interesting Find
An article by the Greenpeace was sent to the Multifaith Centre (MFC) recently. This article titled: "5 reasons why people of faith are a powerful force in the fight against climate change and environmental crises" shares great data relating to people of faith, but also how religious communities can be key proponents against climate change and the betterment of our environment.
Being that one of the goals of the MFC is to grow understanding of religious diversity and practice, we wanted to share this article. We thought author Mehdi Leman did a great job providing insightful information about religious diversity.
We are starting off our blog with this Interesting Find because--not only does it provide great learning and data for people who are new to learning about religions and their diversity--but it also is a call to action for those who hold faith dear to them.
"Whether religious or atheist, faith guides many of us. Simply because success is not guaranteed in most struggles. Our energy and motivation sometimes find their source beyond logic and rationality. Here are five reasons why people of faith can be a powerful force for a liveable planet."
Moving forward our blog posts will include more Interesting Finds: including podcasts, articles, and movie recommendations, Student Experiences, and a section called About Faith to learn more about faith practice. If you are interested in writing for the MFC blog about your student experience or have an interesting find, let us know! Email us at multi_faith@sfu.ca
We are excited to start this journey with you!
