Virtual museum
With help from the Learning and Instructional Development Centre, SFU’s Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology took its educational exhibits out of the gallery and delivered them across the globe via the Internet.

A Journey to a New Land—a stunning bilingual virtual exhibition funded by Heritage Canada—presents current theories about the New World’s first peoples in an interactive format that appeals to audiences ranging from pre-schoolers to graduate students.

The exhibit was built by a team of more than 60 people, including archaeology students and graduates, the university’s media production group, SFU scientists, students from primary age to university, and officials from Parks Canada and the Geological Survey of Canada.
