Writer-in-residence
SFU’s English department penned a new chapter with the appointment of acclaimed BC poet and novelist Daphne Marlatt as its first writer-in-residence in three decades.
In addition to working on a new poetry manuscript and lecturing to university and high school students studying her work, Marlatt is mentoring developing writers from the extended community in one-on-one sessions.
The author of several books including Ana Historic and Steveston, Marlatt also participated in the 2004 West Coast Poetry Festival organized by SFU students and held at the Burnaby and Harbour Centre campuses.
