Congratulations to this year's Psychology undergraduate award winners! These awards honour Psychology students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, service, and/or academic excellence.

Hannah Solkowski

Crocker Family Scholarship in Psychology

The Endowment supporting the Crocker Family Scholarship in Psychology was established in 2016 with a generous gift from Dr. Peter Crocker, an SFU psychology and kinesiology alumnus and a longstanding donor to SFU. The scholarship recognizes and provides funding to a 4th-year undergraduate student studying Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, or Biological Psychology. Dr. Crocker has established this endowment in memory of his parents, Dorothy and Ellard Crocker.

Lindsay Alley

Lorne M. Kendall Memorial Award in Psychology

The Lorne Kendall Memorial Endowment Fund was established in 1977 as a memorial to Dr. Lorne M. Kendall, in recognition of his role as the founding head of the Psychology Department at SFU and for the significant contributions Dr. Kendall made to the measurement of behaviour in applied settings. The award is granted to undergraduate students who best exemplify Dr. Kendall's approach to psychology.

Spencer (Xin) Chen

Mary Batchelor Memorial Award

The Mary Batchelor Memorial Endowment Fund was established in 1988 in memory of Mary Batchelor by her many colleagues, friends, and family members. Mary was an employee of Simon Fraser University for sixteen years, most recently as Departmental Assistant in Psychology, and was an elected member of the Board of Governors. The Mary Batchelor Memorial Award is granted to undergraduate students majoring in Psychology who have demonstrated leadership and/or service within the community.

Shanna Li

Psychology Alumni Honours Award

The Psychology Alumni Honours Award Endowment was established in 1989 by the university and has been funded by 596 alumni and friends of SFU’s Psychology Department.

CPA Certificate of Academic Excellence

Honours thesis: Predictive Validity of the SAVRY among a Canadian Sample of Asian Adolescents on Probation

Shanna is also the recipient of the CPA (Canadian Psychological Association) Certificate of Academic Excellence. This programme has been endorsed by the Council of Canadian Departments of Psychology. The award is in the form of a certificate that each psychology department in Canada would distribute each year to the best undergraduate, masters and doctoral thesis.
