Bubble collisions in the early universe

The dynamics of bubble collisions in the early universe will be discussed. In particular, I will describe a mechanism to transition into a new vacuum that is classical, as opposed to quantum. The process can be understood as the collision of solitons in 1+1 dimensions. Our universe can reside in such a classically produced bubble, as opposed to the more familiar Coleman-de-Lucia bubble. Cosmological implications will be discussed.
