The items below are objects that we have designed and created for use in our lab. We are happy share them with anyone who might find them useful. Parts are designed in solidWorks, and .SLDPRT files are available upon request. We are in the process of uploading .STL files to the NIH Print Exchange site. We will do our best to support request regarding issues with this objects.

18mm_spaced_microTube_holder_4x6
If you have ever wanted to use multi-channel pipettors with 1.5-2.0 ml Eppendorf tubes as reservoirs, you have probably found that few tube racks are compatible with the 9 mm spacing of most multichannel pipettes. We designed this tube rack to have 18 mm spacing so that you can fill every other tip on a multi-channel pipette. This not only can be helpful for working with alternating rows of a 96-well plate, but the 18 mm spacing is also compatible with 24-well plates!

Bench top holder for multi-well plates to relieve wrist strain. Plates can be held in horizontal or vertical oprientation.

Histology & Cytology
12 mm cover slip rack (v1.1)
Small rack for immersion, drying and storage of 12 mm coverslips. PLA appears to resist 70% ethanol. We have not yet tested direct autoclaving of coverslips on rack, but will update once tested.
12 mm cover slip trough (v1)
Purpose: For washing, coating and generally soacking 12 mm coverslips. This rack holds 25 coverslips. The trough is ~ 13.5 mm deep to allow complete immersion. We find that the model takes on less than 0.2% of its weight in liquid after a 2 hour soak.
Volume of trough: 5 ml . This equates to ~$2.5 worth of 50 µg/ml poly-L-lysine.
Printing: We print these with PLA with 2-layer side walls and 3 layer top and bottom. We print at 100 % fill to minimize absorbtion of solutions.
Sample holders and stage adapters
Holder for 4 standard microscope slides.
Purpose: standardized, medium through put imaging of coverslips on glass slides.
Printing: This print is composed of 2 parts. The base has 3.3 mm diamter holdes that are 3.8 mm deep to hold rare earth magnets. The tholes in the op clamp are are 3.3 mm diamter x 3.3 mm deep. Unfortunatelly, we have lost our records of where these were purchased from.

Multi-well plate adapter for the Chamlide EC perfusion chamber
Purpose: use a Chamlide EC perfusion chamber insert on a stage equiped for multi-well plates.
Printing: This print is composed of 3 parts. A base (.stl) and 2 series 20 clamps (.stl) that are attached and hold the stage in place with 3 mm machine schews.

Multi-well plate adapter for the Warner 20 series of heated coverslip holders
Purpose: use a warner series 20 insert on a stage equiped for multi-well plates.
Printing: This print is composed of 3 parts. A base (.stl) and 2 clamps (.stl) that are attached and hold the stage in place with 3 mm machine schews.
