User manual (equipment)

The American Instrument French Press disrupts the plasma membrane of cells by passing them through a narrow valve under high pressure. It provides a rapid and effective mechanism for the disruption of cell membranes and walls in a more uniform and complete manner than other mechanical or ultrasonic methods and does not require chemicals or enzymes which may have to be removed downstream in the extraction and purification process. Volumes up to 35 ml can be processed at a time.

This website has a series of videos on the operation of the French Press.
