Biography

Dr. Bozkurt holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Middle East Technical University. Her research interests lie in Critical Political Economy, Development Studies, and Comparative Politics. More specifically, she explores the interlinkages between development strategies, contentious politics, and political regime changes in the global South in the twenty-first century. Her academic interests extend to work and employment relations and politics of social reproduction in the Middle East. Dr. Bozkurt has articles published in journals such as Third World Quarterly, Journal of International Relations & Development, and South European Society and Politics. Her teaching portfolio encompasses a broad range of subjects in International Studies, including global poverty and inequality, work and employment in the global economy, social movements in the global South, development ethics, and research methods in international studies. Dr. Bozkurt is also currently leading a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Project focused on integrating “critical hope” into the teaching of 21st-century global challenges.
