Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program: How has it Worked in BC since 2004
The Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program has been providing migrant workers to British Columbia since 2004. In the first year, less than 50 workers participated. But by 2023, B.C. has more than 6,000 workers in its farms. The panel will address the program’s impact on workers’ health and labour relations, as well as on workers’ families in Mexico.
The event will be moderated by Gerardo Otero, at the School for International Studies, who has conducted research and published on this topic.
