Below you will find information and resources for SFU faculty, staff, and students to connect with government officials.
Request a meeting with a government official
We encourage collaborative partnerships between all governments and SFU faculty, staff, and students. If you have any questions or require detailed assistance in reach out to senior government officials for a meeting, such as with a Minister, MP or MLA, or Deputy Minister, please reach out to us at govrel@sfu.ca.

Did you recently meet with a government official?
Even if you did not require our assistance, we encourage you to let us know if you hold any meetings with people from any level of government. We may be able to assist in maintaining your established relationship, find information for follow up actions, and connect the official with others at SFU.

Hosting government officials at SFU
If you wish to host a government official and need assistance, please contact SFU Government Relations at govrel@sfu.ca. We can assist in identifying the government official(s) to invite, as well as assist in facilitating their visit and coordinating other aspects of the visit.
To find a key government official, please refer to the Government Information page. Requests for the Provincial Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training, and the Premier should be sent by the SFU Government Relations team.
To plan an event at the Burnaby or Vancouver campuses, including room bookings, catering, audio/visual equipment, and parking reservations, please visit Meeting, Event and Conference Services for more information. Please note that some events may require a minimum of 21 days notice for planning with Meetings, Events and Conference Services. For events at the Surrey campus, please visit the SFU Surrey Campus website.

Request the President to attend your event
If you would like to have the President attend your event, please use the Request for President's Event Attendance Form (fillable PDF) and submit it to pres_events@sfu.ca.
Aboriginal protocol and elder requests
For more inforamtion about Aboriginal protocol at SFU, including making acknowledgement of traditional lands and requesting an elder to attend your event, please visit SFU Ceremonies and Events' Aboriginal Protocol Page.
