Data collection for this project was primarily found on the local hard drive (the S: drive). All data included was already in IDRISI format. For general information on soils and housing, the World Wide Web was used. Using these sights gave me a better indication on what types of soil were most strudy, what the housing situation is like in Vancouver and also the average prices of homes within the Lower Mainland. Most other information regarding operations done within IDRISI were based on some of my common knowledge. This knowledge includes the elevation within certain areas in the Lower Mainland as well as some basic knowledge on natural disasters. Other information such as the areas within the city of Vancouver and the estimated price zones of housing is also common knowledge.
