Enhancing the Performance of Lithium Ion Batteries
Video Source: SFU Science Youtube Channel
Towards safer and more sustainable lithium ion batteries.
The popularity of EVs have increased our demand for lightweight and portable energy storage. Lithium ion batteries have been the preferred choice for current and future technologies, but come with issues of safety and longevity. The team of researchers in the Gates group seek to advance battery technology by tuning the atomic scale features and composition of the battery materials to increase safety, durability, and power density.
