How Does Salt and Blood Pressure Affect Kidneys in People with Diabetes?
Synopsis:
In the long run, blood pressure is regulated by how the kidneys regulate salt content of the body. Conversely, high blood pressure and diabetes are the major factors that cause chronic kidney disease leading to renal replacement therapy (dialysis or transplantation). Dr. Will Cupples will discuss how kidney function may be dysregulated in diabetes and how this may increase the kidney’s susceptibility to injury.
