Higher Education in British Columbia

  • I am a member of the Transfer and Articulation Committee of the British Columbia Council of Admission and Transfer (BCCAT). A unique feature of the higher education system of our province is the seamless transfer between the varius institutions of higher education, especially between colleges and the Universities. Detailed information about equivalent courses that is available online, and BCCAT has recently published a comprehensive online Education Planner.

Simon Fraser University

  • I am a Faculty Senator of the Senate of Simon Fraser University. I am a member of the Senate Committee on University Priorities (SCUP), the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Studies (SCUS) and the Senate Committee on University Honors (SCUH).
  • As Chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee in the Faculty of Health Sciences, I am responsible for the development of the Bachelors of Art and Bachelors of Science degrees that will be offered by the Faculty. I also serve on the executive council of the Faculty of Health Science.
  • I currently serve on the task force that develops a strategic research plan (SRP) for SFU (Strategic Research Plan Task Force 2005). The new SRP is intended to identify our research priority areas in order to guide decision-making in the allocation of resources, and provide an annual means for assessing how we meet our objective.
  • In the Department of Biological Sciences, I currently serve on the Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) and the tenure and Promotion Committee (TPC).
