Graduate student opportunities

I am always on the look-out for self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals interested in graduate work (MSc or PhD). Prospective students should have a strong GPA in a relevant discipline and/ or evidence of research potential (i.e., one or more publications), and be competitive for their own funding (e.g., NSERC, CIHR). I strongly encourage prospective students to start applying for external funding prior to your anticipated start date (I would be happy to support you in this).

I am particularly looking for students with a background in placental biology and/or pregnancy, and who have some experience with R and bioinformatic analyses.

If you are interested, please send me
  • your CV (which should include a summary of your previous research and academic experience and contact information for two or more academic letters of reference)
  • your transcripts (unofficial is fine)
  • a short description of past laboratory/research experience, why you are interested in grad school, your career goals, and how these things relate to my research
Financial support in our department typically comes from a combination of research and teaching assistantships and/or external funding. Please see the departmental web page for more information about graduate work in our department, as well as instructions for applicants.
