Portugal Bioarchaeology Field School, Summer 2018

The Portugal Bioarchaeology Field School spent five weeks studying the archaeology, history, and culture of Southern Portugal. Students had the opportunity to excavate an archaeological cemetery, where they were involved in a series of practical activities such as archaeological survey, excavation of funerary and non-funerary contexts, field photography, drawing and recording, geo-mapping, interpretation of stratigraphy, exhumation, processing and conservation of human remains.
