Summer 2023 Local Field School

Field Director: Dr. David Burley
Location: SFU Burnaby and various sites on the North Shore

The summer 2023 local field school will run during Intersession, and will consist of two courses: ARCH 434-3 Archaeological Field Methods, and ARCH 435-6 Field Work Practicum. ARCH 434 will be held on-campus in Burnaby for the first two weeks, and ARCH 435 will be held off-site for the final four weeks. Analysis and cataloguing will take place at SFU Burnaby in the final days of ARCH 435.

The cost of the field school will be standard tuition rates, plus a small course fee (no more than $300). Unspent course fees will be returned to students. Students will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to the site(s).

• ARCH 434-3 (on campus)
  May 8 - May 15, 9:30-11:30am and 12:30-4:00pm
• ARCH 435-6 (field)
  May 16 - June 9, 9:30am-4:00pm
