Port 3

Scene

The (basic) disco setting for our final animation short. I think I might try to add more for the animation short: jukebox, lounge, etc.

Scene 1

The disco scene, at an angle. The disco ball is created using a combination of a sphere and many directional lights. The strobe lights (the four surrounding the dance floor) were created using spotlights and the fog effect, as learned in the tutorials. The floor was created by making many copies of a flat cube, sticking them together and changing their colours.

Scene 3

A closeup of the wall. The starry look was created using the "Galaxy" tool under the "Paint Effects" tab. I learned this from Maya's "Painting" tutorial ("Painting on Objects").

Light

The lighting tutorial, with the desk shown from a different angle. Working with the spot light and the fog were my favourite parts of the tutorial.

Orange

The shading tutorial. I really like the idea of texture mapping since the result is nicer-looking -and easier- than painting a texture onto an object.

Scene 3

These two images are examples of 3 point lighting. 3 point lighting, which is comprised of an ambient light, a spot light and shadows (created with another spot light). The ambient light was placed in the center; the spot light was placed slightly to the right of the dragon, as was the shadow's spot light.
