Peter Gorniak
I am an adjunct professor at SFU's School for Interactive Arts and Technology as well as Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder at Tideline Data. My research focuses on social networks and games, especially user modelling in both of these domains.
Some research interests:
- Keyhole player modeling
- Techniques to perform online prediction and offline player modeling with few assumptions about the game being played
- AI Visualization
- Investigating how visualizing AI algorithms in game affects gameplay and allows for new game designs.
- Planning in Games
- Especially looking at how to better integrate logical knowledge representation and HTN-style planning with reactive systems like behaviour trees
- Boardgames
- I am interested in AI algorithms to facilitate the design and testing of physical board games.
- Visualization for Online Communities
