  • 1. Opening of the meeting:
    Yoshifumi Nishio expressed his thanks to all TCNCAS members for their invaluable help with technical activities in the area of NCAS, including reviewing papers for TCAS and ISCAS and organizing conferences and special sessions.

  • 2. New TC-NCAS members: Yoshifumi Nishio welcomed the new members:

  • 3. Chair's report on the TC-NCAS past year's activities
    TC-NCAS 2004-05 Annual Report to the IEEE-CAS Society:

    During 2004-2005, the members of the Nonlinear Circuits and Systems Technical Committee (TC-NCAS) published 2 technical books in the field of nonlinear circuits and systems, edited 4 Special Issues in related journals, organized several special and invited sessions, and participated in numerous major conferences and workshops.

    o The TC-NCAS WWW page http://diva.eecs.berkeley.edu/~ljilja/tcncas contains links to members' WWW pages, TC news, conference reports, and meeting minutes, information regarding past and future conferences, and links to other sites of interest.
    o The TC-NCAS mailing list address is ncastc-ieee@sfu.ca. The list currently consists of 83 subscribers (NCAS Technical Committee members and guests). The list is private and supports geographically diverse membership. Members may subscribe or unsubscribe by sending e-mail to ljilja@cs.sfu.ca.
    In order to eliminate spam messages sent to ncastc-ieee@sfu.ca, the TC-NCAS mailing list has been moved from a Majordomo to a regular Maillist system. The advantage of the Maillist system is that it allows to restrict senders to list members only. It also has no restriction to the size of email attachments sent to the list members. In hope to avoid spam, we have also eliminated the "@" signs from all email addresses that appear on the TC-NCAS Web pages.

  • 4. Chair's report from the TC Chairs Meetings on May 23.
    "Advances in Circuits and Systems": This quarterly news service was created last year. It intends to alert CAS members about new important developments in the CAS research areas. Four issues have been distributed in the past year. They included 29 contributions from 17 TCs and the VP Technical Activities. TC-NCAS had 2 contributions in the past year.

    "Future Directions in Circuits and Systems": Announcement of the workshop on May 27.

    "Xell (Explore enabled learning library)": Martin Hasler announced that the CAS Society has budgeted 40K for producing two tutorials under the new program named Xell. He encourages the Technical Committees to think about possible themes for such a tutorial and persons who could realize it. This program still needs approval from the IEEE TAB (Technical Activities Board). Martin will inform the Technical Committee Chairs when this action item has been approved and more details known.

    Ljupco Kocarev and Chi K. Tse were unanimously elected as the secretary and the track chair for ISCAS 2006, respectively.

  • 7. TCAS-I special issue of the selected papers from ISCAS.
    Ljiljana Trajkovic announced possible special issue of the selected papers from ISCAS 2005, which has been proposed at the TCAS-I editorial board meeting. In order to make selections of several best papers from NCAS Track of ISCAS, Gianluca Setti, Ljupco Kocarev, and Chi K. Tse were elected as volunteers.

    Remark: After the meeting, the Editor-in-Chief of TCAS-I Keshab Parhi announced his decision not to publish the special issue this year. The special issue is currently planned for papers presented at ISCAS 2006.
