Constraining network connectivity

• By constraining the flow of routing information, service providers can efficiently control the flow of customer VPN data traffic.

• The BGP/MPLS VPN model constrains the flow of routing information using two mechanisms:

  • Multiple forwarding tables
  • BGP extended community attributes
