My children's literature review blog, There Will Be Books, includes reviews of titles I have read by any authors regardless of nationality.
Biography
I currently work as a freelance editor and formatter.
I am also the project manager for the revision and expansion of the Canada's Early Women Writers database project (CEWW) at Simon Fraser University, which launched in May 2018: in addition to the bio-bibliographic database housed within the Canadian Writing Research Collaboratory at the University of Alberta, we have developed a simpler, searchable database as well as maintaining a project blog.
In addition to my work with CEWW, I have published peer-reviewed articldes on topics in early Canadian literature, children's literature, and the literature of British India.
Things I do or have done
- Work as an editor, both freelance and at BCIT
- Teach English language and literature at SFU and BCIT
- Review children's and young adult literature
- Cycle as often as I can (hiking and snowshoeing are also favourites)
- Travel around BC and abroad
- Supported at one time two children, two snakes, two dogs, one husband, one house: that kept me busy. We are now down to the husband, a son at home, a paying guest, and no pets: a much simpler life.
