The 2025 version of the event will again take place on the 12km route on March 29, 2025 starting at 4:00pm. Groups will leave in 15 minute intervals with the last group leaving at 9:00pm. Please Note When filling out the registation form please fill in a preferred time to start. If your group includes Beavers or Sparks please ask for a start time between 4:00 and 6:00pm. For groups with minimum Cubs or Embers please select a start time between 6:00 and 8:00pm. If your group is Scouts or Guides and older only please choose a start time after 7:00pm. Registration times will be issued on a first come/first served basis Registration deadline has been moved to February 28th, 2025 at end of the day. This had to be changed in order to ensure we have a close approximation of the numbers to order enough crests. This also gives the organizers time to order the correct amount of food and material for everyone on the hike. Thank you Group Requirements: Forms - Parent/Guardian Consent Form (for each youth participant) - Physical Fitness Form (for each participant) - Registration Form (for each Group) when filling out the registration form please be sure to include your preferred time to start Other Information Clothing and equipment (including flashlights for later groups) suited to the weather conditions Please bring a mug (plastic or metal preferred) as this is a lug-a-mug event (environmentally friendly) We will also be collecting for the Food Bank. If you can bring something you would like to donate please bring it to the registration desk at the event Please bring the registration form and payment (either cash or check made out to 31st Alouette BP Guild) The Parent/Guardian Consent form and Physical Fitness Form will be verified at registration and then kept with the groups during the hike itself Features along the Hike - We currently have 6 stations booked for participation along the hike route. Each station will provided with a means of communication - We also have have a bicycle patrol who will be patolling the route and will provide assistance if needed and communcation with the organizers on the progress of the groups - The MedVents will also be on the route to provide any medical assistance if needed along the way We are trying to set up a theme for this years hike to help provide some more fun. The theme will be based on Sherlock Holmes. Each station will have a clue for the group to discuss and upon completion the group will provide their answer to the mysteryWill are also looking at providing each section of each group with a Passport which will be stamped at each station as a keepsake for the section/group The final station will be put on by the 31st Alouette Baden-Powell Guild who will be serving Hot Chocolate, Hot Dogs and Cookies For any questions or if you need further information please contact Night Hike Co-Ordinator |
