• Classes: Lectures are on Mondays 10.30 to 12.20 in AQ5018 and Wednesdays 10.30 to 11.20 in AQ5018. Tutorials start 2nd week of class.
  

• Required textbook: "Essential Mathematics for Economic Analysis" - Fourth Edition (2012, Prentice Hall) by Knut Sydsaeter and Peter Hammond
• Book webpage includes practice exercises.

• Get ready for this class: 

This class has two main parts: Matrix algebra and Optimization. In order to get ready, you can review the following material:

1. Solving systems of equations;
2. Summation;
   
3. Functions and differentiation (functions of 1 variable);
4. Chapters 1 to 3 of the book.
