Instructional pictograms
Tools used: Adobe Illustrator
School project: IAT235 Information Design
Partner: Rossane Wong
Fall 2012
Goal: For this short assignment we were required to design three instructional pictograms from the same family that can be understood easily with minimum text.
Process: We chose T&T as our target because some of the customers whose English is the second language may not be able to understand instructional pictograms if only English text is used without pictures. I drew some sketches then used an isometric grid paper to outline the vector shape in Illustrator. I was responsible for conceptualizing and drawing the design of the cashier register pictogram, and I assisted my partner with the security camera pictogram.
Result: I was able to produce an elegant and a consistent design that uses proper images and texts to deliver important messages to the audience.
