Equity Compass conversations
SFU is committed to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive community where all feel welcome, safe, accepted and appreciated in their learning teaching and work. And for many years, faculty, staff and students across SFU have supported this work and helped advance equity in our community.
Now, SFU’s Equity Office is currently undertaking work on an Equity Compass, a clear and concise summary of equity themes and focus areas that will guide efforts across the university and communicate how we will make progress together over the next three years. The Equity Compass builds on information gathered over the past several years including surveys, engagements, needs and opportunities.
In this virtual event, join hosts Yabome Gilpin-Jackson, vice-president, people, equity, inclusion and Samir Traoré, executive director, equity, diversity and inclusion for an overview of the work to date including a draft version of the equity compass. Then, share your input and feedback on the equity compass draft in a conversation facilitated by Paola Ardiles Gamboa, special projects advisor to the vice-president people, equity, inclusion.
