About Our Guest
SAMIR GANDESHA
Samir Gandesha is currently Professor in the Department of the Humanities and the Director of the Institute for the Humanities at Simon Fraser University.
He specializes in modern European thought and culture, with a particular emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries. Samir was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and immigrated with his parents as an infant to Canada in the mid-1960s. Members of his extended family were expelled from Uganda by Idi Amin in 1972.
