SFU STAR Institute received funding in 2024 from the "Innovation through Future Care Approaches in Healthy Aging" University of Edinburgh - Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC) (University of Toronto) - AGE-WELL Institutional Strategic Initiative to carry out a catalyst project on music-based interventions to support dementia care. The project will map directions for future research and innovation in the development of Music Based Interventions (MBIs) in dementia care and cognitive health, bringing together researchers from backgrounds including gerontology, neuroscience, music psychology, music therapy, health, design, ethics, and music technology.
