AGE-WELL National Impact Challenge Competition 2019
SFU STAR helped organize AGE-WELL's 2019 National Impact Challenge: Startup Edition competition. The top five finalists from the region were selected to compete for $15,000 cash plus in-kind prizes at the annual pitch competition. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from industry experts on this important market, gain key insights on commercialization and meet tech entrepreneurs in this space, discover funding and opportunities with AGE-WELL and network with AGE-WELL staff and key stakeholders in the industry.
The finalist startup companies were: AltumView Systems, Luxsonic Technologies, StrongerU Senior Fitness, Tochtech Technologies, and True Angle Medical Technologies. The expert judging panel included: Penny Anguish (Northern Health Authority, BC), Greg Christie (Digital Health Circle), Jay Crone (TELUS Ventures), and Tanya Snow (BC Seniors Living Association).
